40 days

40 days & 40 nights

40 days

We are getting so close to our big day – only 40 days to be exact!

On day 40, I can’t help but be reminded of the significance the number 40 holds Biblically. There are multiple instances throughout the Bible that the number 40 appears in the context of time. In the Old Testament, the Lord summoned Moses on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights. (Exodus 24:18) In Deuteronomy 8, the Lord led the Israelites through the wilderness as a test of humility and faith – for 40 days and 40 nights. In the New Testament, the Spirit called Jesus into the wilderness to fast for 40 days and 40 nights. (Matthew 4:2) After Jesus died and rose again, He appeared for another 40 days and 40 nights before ascending into Heaven. (Acts 1) In each of these occurrences, 40 days and 40 nights served as a trail or testing which ended with a revival and restoration!

Throughout the next 40 days and 40 nights, Justin and I request that you pray for us to be tested by the Spirit and restored as one in Him. We will use the next 40 days to prepare for the marriage the Lord has in mind for the two of us.

Day 40 of the countdown is the birthday of my maid of honor, Bethany. I am honored to have my sister stand beside me as I marry my best friend.

Happy Birthday Bethany!
