pink casts & progress!

Surprise! After 18 weeks of white, plaster casts, the doctors surprised us with hot pink, fiberglass casts. We were so excited for a change-up and Joy Belle is fascinated by the bright color. However, we are most excited that these are Joy Belle’s last set of casts… for real this time.

After the last procedure, we believed Joy Belle was in her final set of casts. But our little Houdini managed to wiggle out of that set, so it was back to Atlanta for what we are praying to be her very last set of casts.

If all goes as planned, Joy Belle’s casts will be removed forever on Tuesday, November 18th – Justin’s birthday. It may be the best birthday gift ever. On that day, she will be given a new pair of shoes and bar that she will wear 23 hours a day. The shoes and bar will continue to correct her feet and after a few months, she will only need to wear them while she sleeps.

I’m excited because that means real baths! It means I can feel her tiny legs wrapped around me when I hold my baby girl. Braces mean soft legs and squishy toes. It means bloomers and pants. I. can. not. wait!

Words can not express how grateful we are to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We couldn’t have made it this far without so much encouragement and uplifting prayer. Please continue to pray – as the journey is nearing an end, the finish line is not in sight just yet.
