strawberry picking

Traditions, experiences I want to pass on from this generation to the next. Memories, moments I want my children to remember forever. Strawberry picking is both a tradition and a memory for our family. We live about 10 miles from Mark’s Melon Patch, a famous little roadside market. Throughout the year, you can pick your own pumpkins, cotton, watermelons, or strawberries there, and shop various produce too. My personal favorite is their homemade, strawberry ice cream made with their fresh from the farm strawberries. It’s so delicious!

Lately, life has been so busy and out of the norm, that I was determined we wouldn’t skip this annual tradition. So in the midst of what has seemed like chaos, I loaded up the car and made it happen. And, I’m so glad I did.

I thought I was smart by sitting Aurelia in the basket, but she proved me wrong by pulling up for the first time. She was so proud of herself, but she scared the rest of us.

Joy Belle and Britt have been picking berries for years, so they’re little pros.

It was Aurelia’s first time at Mark’s Melon Patch and only suiting that she met Mr. Mark!

And they’re all little pros at eating the berries faster than we could pick them.

To my babies, I never want to stop making memories with you.

What’s a tradition that you feel passionately about making happen each year?
