homemade with love (& essential oils)

Recently I’ve joined the bandwagon and purchased Young Living essential oils. Before sharing our oily journey, I wanted to be sold-out and better educated on the oils. After a few weeks, I’ll admit I’ve become a fan and seen the oils work, but more on that later. Right now, I’m here to share with you all a simple, DIY that makes a perfect, last minute gift this holiday season!

Since I’ve really enjoyed using the essential oils to help relax after a long day, bath salts seemed like a no brainer for a handmade gift.

To start, choose a few essential oils. I chose a few of my favorites: Joy, Peace & Calming, Lemon, and Peppermint.
Fill the mason jars (I used a variety of sizes, but I’d recommend the 4 ounce jars.) with epsom salt, almost to the rim.
Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
Add 3-4 drops of your favorite oil.*
Shake well, jazz up, and personalize with ribbon and craft paper.
*For the Lemon/Mint salts, I used 2 drops of each oil.

I’m a sucker for homemade and heartfelt gifts, so these bath salts are my jam. Not to mention, they are easy to assemble and I had a blast painting the craft paper tags. And let me just tell you, you will love bathing with them even more!
