nursery inspiration

Many of you have been asking about baby girl’s nursery. And the truth is, we haven’t done a ton to it just yet. We opted to keep most of the colors neutral and aside from the crib, none of the furniture will be purchased. Justin and my Dad are building the changing table. We’re getting a rocking chair from my parents, that has been in the family for years. And I plan on repurposing an old mantel (again, a family heirloom) for the nursery too. At this point, it’s just a matter of pulling it all together.

Most of our house is painted in Timber Dust by Valspar, which is a taupe/grey color, including her room. It’s such a great neutral that I decided to keep it – for boy or girl. Instead of repainting the walls, I opted for an accent wall. (Painting one out of four sounded lots better!) I’ve never been one for accent walls, but once the wheels started turning I just knew I had to do it. My inspiration was a childhood favorite, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. I finished up the wall last week and I couldn’t love it more. Now don’t get too excited, I’m not ready to share the finished look yet – but I can attest that I may have never been more proud of my artwork.
