eighteen weeks

As promised, you won’t be receiving weekly updates – but I did want to find a way to document my pregnancy without becoming that girl. Since I wasn’t showing in the slightest until a few days ago, it seemed irrelevant to take or share any photos. However, I bit the bullet this weekend and snapped a couple. I don’t know about you, but selfies (even on a timer and snapped on an actual camera) seem so awkward to me.

Seeing as I wasn’t showing in the least until a few days ago, it’s no surprise that I’m in the awkward, baby bump phase. It looks more like I’ve eaten one too many doughnuts, rather than I’m actually pregnant. But hey, it’s a bump!

After stumbling upon a little questionnaire, which I thought was simple and sweet, I decided to incorporate it into my pregnancy updates.

How far along are you? 18 weeks, today.
Best moment(s)? Finding out baby Heape is a girl!
Food cravings or aversions? Mostly aversions, I’m turned-off to lots of foods/drinks I typically love.
Symptoms? Morning sickness – I’m sick most mornings, but it’s definitely easing up.
Sleep? I’d say I’ve been sleeping more, because I’m so tired all of the time. However, I get up multiple times throughout the night for bathroom breaks and the sudden urge to drink a tall glass of ice water.
Gender? Baby Heape is a girl!
Movements? Not quite sure yet, but I felt a little flutter (multiple times) in the past few nights.
Cranky or happy? Most of the time I’m happy, but I can definitely get snappy! (Typically whenever I get hungry or tired.)
Maternity clothes? Not yet. Right now, I can still fit in my “normal” clothes quite comfortably.
Miss anything? Sushi, most definitely.

What are you looking forward to? Our 20 week appointment and feeling baby girl move!

For those of you that have been asking for more frequent updates, you’ll be happy to know I plan on sharing a similar post at the end of each month, along with a summary of each trimester (like this one here).
