In the past couple of weeks, I’ve felt like baby Heape has fully blossomed. Not only has my bump expanded, but I’m pretty sure baby girl is out growing my belly! She’s measuring a little over five pounds and that was two weeks ago! As for me, I’ve embraced the waddle and being uncomfortable 24/7, but the indigestion and I are still duking it out. It’s now an acrobatic act just to buckle my shoes and get dressed in the mornings.
Aside from my body continuously changing and growing, I’m in full on baby mode. Nesting is not only a thing, but a crazy, consume-you state of mind. If I’m not scribbling out to-do lists (for everyone), I’m in the nursery working on something. Or, running back to Target to exchange the 4th set of curtains that I didn’t realize I hated until I got home.
On top of all of my normal, pregnancy craziness, I’ve added a whole new level of emotion to the mix. It probably has something to do with the fact that this month I’ll be bringing my girl home. In less than 30 days, this baby will be out and she’ll need me. The reality that any day now, we could be heading to the hospital. It’s so overwhelming to think about!
I’ve become a bit nostalgic thinking about it. Right now, I have the luxury of her being all mine. I don’t have to share her with anyone. It’s just me and her… and I love it. I love our little moments and I know I’ll miss it. But at the same time, I can not wait for her to get here. I want to meet her, to see her face, to kiss and hold her. I’m anxious for the day we meet.
How far along are you? 35 weeks, 5 day. Photo taken at 35 weeks, 4 days.
Best moment(s)? Our baby showers. We’ve been showered with so much love over the past couple of weeks! (Here, here, here, & one more to go.)
Food cravings or aversions? Lemoncello gelato! And ice-cream, popsicles, frozen yogurt, etc. plus, sparkling water.
Symptoms? Aching all over, swollen feet, and definitely a waddle.
Sleep? Uncomfortable. I actually dread going to bed, because it’s so uncomfortable.
Gender? Baby Heape is a girl!
Movements? Yes! I feel her move all the time, especially when I’m reading to her. It never gets old!
Cranky or happy? I’ve gone from happy, to bossy – at least according to Justin.
Maternity clothes? Oh yea, I’m there. And popping buttons on all of my work shirts!
Miss anything? Sushi and good sleep.
What are you looking forward to? Her arrival! I’m counting down the days.
